Not Legally

The only Legal way to do it is to go to the web site of your u3drive manufacturer, usually thru the add programs link on the Launch Pad.
What Brand/Model are you using? I only know of one company that provides an "open" url but they want the serial number from your U3 drive that must match one of their numbers.

Currently there is no way to get McAfee Anti Virus directly. They are currently Beta testing a version which they will sell that you can download to any U3 drive.

sandisk :(

I am unfortunately using a Sandisk Cruzer Micro 2, and they chose to use avast instead, but I prefer Mcafee, and don't want to pay for avast

Not Yet

Currently U3 AntiVirus (McAfee) comes pre-installed or needs to be downloaded from the site of your U3 Driver maker. It can not be purchased by itself. But I think the poster is saying they would be willing to pay for McAfee, but not Avast.

I use both myself, but I don't use the Avast Real Time/Background protection.
I do know that John says there are problems with Avast and some PortableApps but I myself have had no problems.
