Thank you to John Haller

I would like to express my appreciation to you, John Haller, for creating and maintaining such an incredible website, beautifully converted portable apps and an ever-present.............well....presence...on these forums to try and help others.

I am completely blown away by the rudeness and.........shall we say, abrupt forthrightness of some people when they post on these forums. They seem to "expect" you to create an endless stream of apps and answer inane questions and here's the thing..............you are doing it for free...........what is wrong with people. We have lost our ability to be grateful in the presence of someone truly giving. We take for granted the work that you do and then ask for more and more.

All I want to do is say Thank you................I truly appreciate all that you do.

I completely agree with this

It's funny too, after reading another thread, I just made a donation via paypal to this site, and here I come back to the forum to this thread.

Thank you John, portableapps.com really is the best thing since sliced bread.

I agree. I have to slice bread all the time, and bread can't browse the internet, can it ?

I feel the same way as Dara. It is absolutely amazing how people can be so demanding when what they're getting is free. This I feel has two reasons. One is the habits aquired from a lifetime of paid-for services where one has a right to be demanding, and (I know I'll catch flack for this) the welfare-esque freeloading mentality that one deserves to have something, whether or not one has earned it. I invite folks who are rude to John Haller to ask themseves which it is? The community sentiment towards your demanding seems to be, "shut up or leave if you want to be rude." I haven't been on this site for long, but I keep wondering why John hasn't made that a rule. I know I would, if I were in his place. It is a testimony to his patience and character that he hasn't.

John, your site has been a blessing. Thank you so much.

Yeah, this site rocks

Yeah, this site rocks indeed. Thanks. Smile

John T. Haller, please also don`t provide to many apps until you may be not able to get ride of the load... I don`t want to see this page going down because of to many support work. Or try to catch a few more helpers, maybe state things which could be done by them (translation and so on).

Thanks

I can only agree with everything Dara says. I spent years looking for truly portable applications and was just about to go down the U3 route when John went public.

Portable Apps is a brilliant product. I just need a faster USB stick!

Thank you so much Mr. Haller

Thank you so much Mr. Haller for creating such an amazing app. Currently, I am doing research in to Computational Fluid Dynamics on the Flow of Blood. Unfortunately, my department doesn't use windows, because even I agree Windows is not stable. Since OpenOffice on Linux is very stable, I am capable of using OpenOffice Portable anywhere on any Windows!

THANKS A LOT !

Yours truly,
