SongBird (Web Browser)

Hi, hopefully I can get it right this time!

Program: SongBird

License: Open Source

Description: Songbird is a media browser and Web player built from Firefox's browser engine. Songbird is open source and supports user contributed, cross-platform extensions. The latest 0.2.5 update adds a host of new features to the application and Songbird Web site, including command-line handling, a filterable Web library, and a new tools menu.

Search

You got the format right, but search before posting. This has been discussed on several occasions. The basic issue is, while songbird is open source the trademarked name and images are not, so these must be removed from the project in order to be able to distribute it in any modified form. This is a fair bit of work, and I believe there are some here who are attempting it. Till then, a launcher is available around here somewhere.
Oh and the link is www.songbirdnest.com and download at Songbird for Windows

Well I've been developping a launcher and I've modding the app so that it doesn't inlcude any of Songbirds trademarks and also so far I am about 60% done. soon I'm going to be recompiling. actually I was thinking of changing it from using vlc to mplayer. Haven't decided yet. but once I get the launcher done I'll post the launcher for you

I thought it was you who was doing this, but I wasn't sure. I will be eager to see your finished product.

Well

Well I won't know when I'll get it done as I'm pretty busy with YANC and now that I'm jobless and out of college. I have to find a job and not to forget to mention multiple sites to manage

Nah

I've given up for the time being.
I have other pursuits which are worth my time more.

Well

Thats all right. but my test results for Songbird version 0.2.5 is that it seems not to use songbirdvlcrc anymore so I might be able to get it to work right
