Portable Java SDK

It would be used for running Java applications on computer which doesn`t have Java SDK installed on them. What do you think about it?

sorta comming

John is planning something like that.
Its a "common files" folder where java files can go. So you only need one copy of Java for multiple Apps

Do you mean the JRE

The Java Runtime Environment(JRE) is what is used by programs. The SDK(Software Development Kit) is used for Java program development, and it would be great if someone could make a portable compiler for Java including the SDK.

When the new license is used

Java was recently open sourced and they are developing a JRE and JDK that will be fully GPL'd. I don't think John is planning on releasing this until that happens. The current packages are not under that license.

Well

Well they have it licensed as Gnu Gpl but they haven't made any binaries for any system as of yet and I don't expect this to happen until there is a binary release
