Hi, I seem to have a problem with windows Explorer. Everytime I press and icon eithr in the quick launch tray on in the Start Menu, I get the message that reads something like: We are sorry for the inconvenience....
I had this problem before and sorted it by changing the way explorer diplays things to details rathr than icon.
Any Ideas?
...restarting your PC. It seems obvious but somtimes people never do this. I don't know why they don't...
Oh, and what version of W1nd0w$ are you using? I have XP and it works fine.
Try to go into the system root folder (folder name is windows on my PC) and click the folder with a magnifying glass on it. that also opens win. explorer (so does "My Computer", "My Documents", etc...)
sorry if this seems obvious but like i said before sometimes people never do this. I do not think that you are dumb or anything if you knew to do this (or if you didn't).

and get Linux.
Here are some distros:
openSUSE (a good, commercially backed up distro that is supported by Novell):
http://www.opensuse.org
Fedora Core (another good distro supported by Red Hat)
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/
Ubuntu (a great distro that works good out-of-the-box)
http://www.ubuntu.com
Kubuntu (same as Ubuntu but uses KDE)
http://www.kubuntu.org
Xubuntu (same as Ubuntu but uses Xfce, chose if you have old, crappy hardware)
http://www.xubuntu.org
1st, put your documents and other important files on removable media
2nd download the 5 iso images (if you wanna download openSUSE or Fedora on CDs) and burn them to CDs, if you want Ubuntu (or Kubuntu or Xubuntu) download the single iso image and burn it to CD. If you wanna use openSUSE or Fedora and have a DVD download the 2.3 GB iso and burn it to the DVD.
3rd shutdown Winblows and pop in the 1st CD ( if you want openSUSE or Fedora), or DVD or the CD (if you are using Kubuntu, Ubuntu or Xubuntu)
4th (Ubuntu, Kubuntu or Xubuntu users), just boot up the Live CD and select the 1st choice, and wait for the Live session to boot, click the install icon and continue.
4th (openSUSE and Fedora CD users)
Boot up the 1st CD and continue when it prompts you for more CDs pop them in and continue.
4th (openSUSE and Fedora DVD users)
Boot up the DVD and continue.
5th (Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and Xubuntu users)
Restart your comp and remove the CD and put your files back on the hard drive
5th (openSUSE and Fedora users)
Restart your comp, but your files back on the hard drive.
6th
ENJOY YOUR KICK-ASS COMPUTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that works too...

I have examined every folder to no avail. I would go linux but, the software that I need to use for my coursework (Crocodile Technology) does not run on linux.

Crocodile Technology rocks! We used to use it, but now they've limited it to the students who actually need it
