InfraRecorder

Hello.

I would like to request an application that is called InfraRecorder. It burns and copies CD's as well as DVD. It can also make DVD video discs and produce audio CD's.

Program: InfraRecorder

License: GNU General Public License (GPL)

Description: A program that makes audio discs and well as DVDs and can duplicate discs.

Website: http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/

Other: I don't see any registry entries but I'm sure that there are some.

This program has been mentioned before but this is the request for it.

If possible, I'd like to see this in PortableApps suite format.

Thank you.

Application and some others like it have aleady been requested, next time, before you post a request, just search the forums manually, or use keywords using the search function. Top right corner of site.

Hello.

Please read my post.

"This program has been mentioned before but this is the request for it."

As stated, the program has been mentioned before but hasn't actually has a formal request.

Thank you.

Yea...

But there's been SO many requests for C.D. burning software. I like InfraRecorder myself as well.

Whoa

Someone's got themselves a serious gaming machine Biggrin

Anyway, it probably wouldn't work, since CD Burning applications usually require low-level hooks, which needs admin accounts and wouldn't work portably.
However, I have been known to be wrong in very isolated incidents *cough*most of the time*cough* Biggrin

Lol

Hello.

Yeah. I've put enough money in this computer to make it look and run good. I got to play games in it. Biggrin

Anyway, I'm not sure about coding and all so I have no idea if it has any of those hooks that you are talking about. I just know that I love the program so far and would like to see it ported to the PortableApps suite. Lol. It's also very small surprisingly.

Just making a request here because I'd like to see it but I don't know about the needing an admin account thing.

Thank you.

Give it a shot.

Just create a limited account, and maybe activate the quest account, and the program should be on the programs list of the users, [hopefully] if it is, try to use it.

ZIP

Hello.

I haven’t tried installing it on a limited control account but I was browsing the InfraRecorder site and I found that they offer a ZIP archive where you don't even have to install it.

So I am guessing that it is basically completely possible to make this program part of the PortableApps application suite?

Thank you.

hmm...

i don't know if i'm missing something here. i carry this program around me and i don't think it writes to the registry meaning it is pretty portable (in that aspect anyway). all you have to do is create a folder in the portableapps folder and unzip all the contents of the infraRecorder zip file into that folder. although this program works on most of the computers i deal with you can run into a few problems. first, as mentioned earlier, admin restrictions could cause a problem though i have never ran into any. another thing i noticed, and why it probably wont be a candidate for the portable apps suite, is it is not compatible with all burning drives. for the suite i think john wants programs that are compatible with almost all computers. but hey, i'm not john.

Install

Hello.

Well, I tried to install it on a limited account and it wouldn't work. But the ZIP archive of the program did run.

So anyway, I guess this can work and you can count this as the official request for this program. Smile

Thank you.
