INstalling Software with virtual registry etc

Hi,

Was just reading lifehacker, and found this nugget talking about a bit of software that allows you to install in a virtual layer that captures registry calls etc...

http://www.lifehacker.com/software/installation/hack-attack-safely-insta...

Maybe this could be used for portabalising apps?

Why do you hate Altiris?

Hello Ryan,

Why do you hate Altiris? And what's this other app you refer to that can redirect any Window API call?

Thanks.

I see...

Ahhh, now I see why you don't like Altiris (I've never heard of Altiris being used to do this?). Thanks for the link for the other software!

I,

am, but I can multitask (or more accurately I support hyperthreading, I can monitor two threads at one time and when one stop swap to the other one)!

Yeah?...

Well I can read the Sunday newspaper, listen to a Syracuse University hoops game by radio (earphones), and catch an NFL game on TV all at the same time, and keep track of each one.

Now THAT's multi-tasking!...

As an added bonus, once when I treated several patients who needed rabies shots because of exposure to the same suspect animal, I took a pen in each hand and wrote on two of their charts simultaneously, times about 3 or more pairs of patients (since their stories were essentially the same, I merely wrote the same spiel on each chart at the same time).

So THERE! Wink
