3 beneficial program requests for Architect

Hello. This is my first post to this forum. I have to say that me and my firm beleive that this could be a great way to make us all more efficient for meetings and presentations. I was wondering if anyone has, knows if it canbe done, or knows how to do it: Revit, AutoCAD, and more importantly, Sketch-Up Pro

I would appreciate any info if any of these are possible or may have been done already. Thanks!

Jaysyn

Please post links to all of the aforementioned apps, so that we can have a look.
Also, please state their licenses.

I hope this is what you were referring to. Not sure exactly what you need in terms of your license question.

Thanks Jaysyn

But...

Does it leave anything behind, i.e. registry settings, folders, etc.

Oh yea.

Oh yea.

It creates a plethora of registry entries. They can be easily manually deleted, but that probably means you would have to reconfigure Sketchup every time you ran it. Don't know this is my first experience with trying to 'portable-ize' software.

None of these are open

None of these are open source, and i'm fairly sure sketchup is the only one that is free. For anyone to make these portable, we would have to have the software and a valid license key

Revit - AutoCad

It would be very complicated to make AutoCad or Revit into a portable version since both of these programs have a bunch of files everywhere. I mean, there are tons of registries, files in "program files\Common files", "app data" folder, and of course "program files\Autocad". I have not used Sketchup but I'm sure it's the same situation. I think that the best option we have is ProgeCAD, which will be released sometime soon and will be open-source. I downloaded a demo of the commercial version and it looks and feels just like AutoCad.

The weirdest thing is, when I read your post, Sketchup was the topic before this one.
