There have been some discussion about this but not in a specific post...
Is it possible to have PDFcreator portable?
I know it creates a "fake printer" in the system, but I mean something like the printing monitor or something like that... a GUI that youc an open, choose a file and press "import/convert to pdf" and is done...
Is that possible?
Greetings.-
Open office allows you to create pdfs of any file that it can open, including ms office files, graphics file, etc etc. Just click the pdf button on the tool bar.
This has always fulfilled my pdfing needs, or do you need something that will do something else?
Open Office does have the "export to PDF" feature, however, when i used that rather than PDF Creator or PrimoPDF, the file created was nearly 4 times the size of the original, instead of being a compressed PDF

Works fine for me.

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report
Make sure you are running the most recent OO.o (still waiting for 2.1 portable to get out of beta, check the beta forums or cross your fingers for a quick hop to 2.2!).
Not sure if it happened with 2.0 or 2.1, but the PDF creation dialog has been vastly improved to give many options for the output file. Avoid the 1-click button and pick File>Export as PDF to get the options after picking a filename...
PDF Creator is a printer driver that interprets 'printed' documents from other programs and 'prints' them to a PDF file. It does not have the ability to actually import any files (document, spreadsheet, etc), it can only 'fake print' to pdf files from other apps. As such, you can only use it on machines where you have permission to install a printer driver. There is currently no other way to do it. So, it isn't a very good portable app candidate.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Just take the zip from this zip (the zip is called PDFProducer, it is within the zip called Floppy Office), it also has lots of other useful stuff.
As all of ya should know Microsoft is the Evil Empire, and Windows (a.k.a. Winblows or Windoze) is their greatest general, so please make a difference and install Linux or FreeBSD on your Winblows comp or buy a Mac.

Should I have a signature?
