Right now I am using No23Recorder, it`s freeware. Dunno if portable, but it Just Works™.
I am looking for a more handy tool which can sit inside the tray.
The purpose is to record a nice song on the radio stream and to start it quickly. Oh well, btw. this is 100% legal in my country.

I DL'ed and tried this "No23Recorder" app - did you know that No23 *DOES* have an option to sit in the Sys Tray?...
This app has a VERY cool and sleek looking interface! Unfortunately, when I tried to record on it, it didn't appear to work - but maybe because the app is in German, I missed some option that caused it to (seemingly) not work. Anyway, due to the German interface maybe you missed that option on the menus?.... (I don't read German, but I figured it out anyway. Also, I ran the DLed file thru Universal Extractor, and it does appear to function portably).
Now what I'd like for this app is for it to have an option to set menus & such in ENGLISH. Do you know of any way to do this?...

Try Billy from Sheep Friends. It can sit in the tray, record and plays internet streams. Plus, it's fully portable.

they are there to write the file associations. If you don't associate them with billy, then they are just empty.
