EssentialPIM Pro Portable + Foxit Reader

Hi all, first off congratulations for the great work done here I was kind of skeptical but just recently moved from U3 to PortableApps and I've been loving it so far!!

Two suggestions:

- EssentialPIM Portable (www.essentialpim.com) is a great small personal information manager, kind of a mini-outlook minus the e-mails. I tried just copying it over and running it like I did off my other pendrives and it didn't work and I tried the method to add it to the launch bar and it also didn't work. I really miss this and if more people knew about it they would love it because it's so handy. I ask that you guys please get it to work with your application suite!!

- Foxit PDF Reader (www.foxitsoftware.com) I guess it's just a matter of preference here but I'd like to see this available too.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Alex

Essential PIM

Essential PIM is actually already portable (without U3). They had a straight portable version available even before the U3 version. Just be sure to get the right package from them (you'll need to ask em as their site is a bit misleading) and install it to PortableApps\EssentialPIM. The Menu will pick it up.

EssentialPIM

I'm new to this forum, and also to PortableApps. I am also a fan of EssentialPIM, and have used it on my PC for a while now. I tried to use this procedure to install it on my thumb drive, but it did not show up on the menu. I tried to refresh the menu icons (under options, but no go. Can this proceedure still be done, and if not how can I install the prog?
Thanks in advance.

Foxit Reader was made

Foxit Reader was made portable by a different site already, the link seems to be down tho. And since Foxit Reader is freeware and not open-source it can't be hosted here for the time being. There are plans in progress to make some freeware apps available with the vendor's permission

[conversation]
There's no need to use the HUMAN code tag if it's all HUMAN code, however if you are using another type, you have to use it.
You can also use [sincerity] and [/sincerity]

Wow.

Again, just right ON this site. Sumatra PDF reader, I know you've been around for AT LEAST a couple weeks. And Foxit can't be made portable because it's not open source, same with Adobe, But if you really want, go get the launcher for Foxit, and then there's cool PDF reader which I don't think it any good at all.

Yeah but

Someone should make a portable chat program and password manager. IF you're so smart why don't YOU do it

Please stop

It's become apparent that you're pretending just to bug people (come on... you justed asked for a portable password manager and you even commented on the KeePass Password Manager Portable announcement here). You know very well that every single app you suggested already exists... or you would by simply looking to the left. Please stop it now.

Ok

I was trying from the get-go to poke a little fun at the people who come in, don't read a single thing, (FAQ,what_is_a_portable_app, etc. etc.) and come request apps. I then was poking fun at Have Some Patience for not clearly recognizing it as such. Bad habits from too many years on humor forums I suppose. You're the boss, so you say stop and I stop.

As a minor constructive comment: I don't know what your vision of this site or these forums is, but if you want it to have some of the "community" vibe, you may consider letting people loosen up a bit. Either way, I appreciate the apps and the hard work.

Respectfully,
Hungover

Loosen up as in maybe not

Loosen up as in maybe not needing a dictionary legal definition for commonly understood phrases. Also "loosen up" as in allow a little irony. This isn't court. It's the internet.

2. become less tense, less formal, or less restrained, and assume a friendlier manner; "our new colleague relaxed when he saw that we were a friendly group"
