Hi,
I just installed Vista yesterday. For some reason Vista cannot detect a network. I use a D-Link VWR Router and an RCA Modem. I have a Roadrunner connection. can anyone help me?
You are here
Vista+High Speed Internet Connection=No Connection?!?!?
are you connected using an ethernet cable? if so, are you connected to a modem or a network? (eg. office, small home network ect.)
Got a new laptop loaded w/ vista, and I got her hooked up to our wireless in a second.
It's a linksys g router btw.
why the h*** would you put Vista on your comp, all Vista is, is XP with a few bells and whistles and DRM.
it is all just recycled crap from XP with icandy. besides, if you got hooked up to the wirless in a second, then your on the internet, if the internet dosent work, then it is either your wifi broadcaster or you have to configure your internet settings to direct your internet acsess through the wireless, try windows pitiful attempt at a network setup wizard. set it to a wireless connection if possible, mainly, it will ask if you connect to the internet through another comp, unless you have a comp that i have never herd of broadcasting wifi, you arent. if the network setup wizard doesent work then go to 'microscam windblows' ->->->->->->->->->->->->->->->->->\(oo)/
what version of vista are you using? home basic/premeum ect...
->->->->->->->->->->->->->->->->->->\(oo)/
Maybe because you aren't biased against Windows?

But I don't think this is the answer to his question.
I belive we do not want this forum to become a vista bashing, or linux bashing place, or Mac bashing site.
Please don't start. I recomnmend you go here for those kinds of conversations. In my opionion that site was destroyed by those who wanted to have a "My OS is Better than yours!" kind of discussions.
Thanks.

I agree totally.
I love Linux but that doesn't mean I have to kill, squash and destroy every windows machine I find.

I agree fully. I would try out Linux, but I have some limitations.
