Xye is a puzzle game in which you have to get all the gems. The levels vary in difficulty and solving methods. It can also open and play sokoban files (.xsb)
When I got to portableApps.com today I really liked the way these things work, I was using U3 for a while but it didn't let me just add apps that are already portable and it also hides the folders and stuff.
I figured that I had to contribute with something and also Xye was in the portable philosophy for some time, It doesn't modiffy stuff outside its folder or touches the registry.
I had to tweak some stuff though so I need beta testers.

Looks like a fun game.....but how do you play it?? I looked in the program and there isn't a help file......I kinda feel like snoopy pushing around a little green ball....

You are right, I should add more instructions, maybe In game ones or something.
There are instructions in the zip but in GAMEINTRO.TXT.
Basically, you just select a level (which would probably be tutorials.xye) and play it.
To play just use the LEFT/UP/DOWN/RIGHT keys. Once you beat a level it will tell you to press + or N to get to next level.
In fact you can press - or P to get to previous level or you can even use +,N to go to a next level without beating the current one.
Also if there is a film icon at the bottom you can press S to play a solution demo, and if there is an [H] icon you can press H to get a hint, if you move your green ball above an [H] sign in the ground you can also read a hint.
The tutorials use those hints to kind of explain most of the game play.
Ok cool.....This isn't that bad of a game....thanks for the post!!!

This is probably a shameless bump anyways, no one else has got any feedback? It does not have to be positive.
It is an absolutely great game!
I love it

Shouldn't portable apps menu run the program with its own folder as work folder by default?
Either way I'll see what can I do.
But I already change work folder in the exe... position of stdin/out is determined before I change the work folder so it is gonna need external aid, either an update to apps menu or an script to run the game... I kind of wish there was a way to disable those since in windows they aren't that useful. Well, there should be a way to disable them...
John knows about it and he has a fix coming.
