Just stumbled upon this for my thumb drive.
Works great but in options you have to change the path to opening book or you get an error on startup.

Hi, orb9220, i wonder how to change the path in the options. I tried several times but failed. When i run it from the PortableApp Start next time, error pops up again. It seems no effect. Can you do any help? Thanks.
Just make sure in Options:
1) Options>Default settings points to the opening book on your usb.
2) Options>Winboard settings that you load the book from usb by clicking book and loading from usb.
Mine runs fine but have not tested this on other systems.
As wheather it will not load book as a result of device letter changing or not.
In fact I have tried that, but as i said, when i run it from the PortableApps Start next time, the error msg pops up again. So I suggest John make Slowchess portable. I have compared many chess games with Slowchess. They are either too complicated(like 3D, even worse expensive) or too simple(just imagine that you are moving some icons, nightmare). Slowchess does well in both, free and close to real. And I am sure its author Jonathan will be happy that his great work(actually i think Slowchess is more interesting than Sodoku, it should be in the portable game family) can be added into Portable Apps.
I know that at least 1 chess game will be on the site soon. And John is also working on one, but only he knows if it's going to be released.

Great, it couldn't be better. I am expecting it's coming. Sure, hope it close to real, not just icons full of the chessboard.

I know you made it. Really appreciate your work. But i think i can't help trying John's 3D one.
As I said before, I failed to run Slowchess from the Portable Apps Menu. So any one can solve this problem?
