Metasploit

Hi I have found that when i installed a program called metasploit onto my ipod that it doesnt work with out computers. I was hoping that some one would be able to develop this as a portable application. I would greatly appritiate it if some one would be able to make this program as a portable application. The link for the program I would like as a portable application is as followed... http://www.metasploit.com/projects/Framework/downloads.html

I'm...

Gonna go look, but quick note, just after... and bfore the link, put a space to make it clickable. (You can edit your post)

Can you tell us more about the program?

Cause I have to say this doesn't look like jolly good fun. Blum

Alright Well this program is

Alright Well this program is widely used for exploitation and network security and i at this moment have no computer i can use permantly because of my old one just decided to die out on me so im using public computers with as much time as i please Smile and i have recently taken an interst in metasploit because of the fact it has a GUI(graphic user interface) and a command line based interface. When i first got this i tried installing onto my ipod and an hour and some minutes later it worked so i went and tried to use it on another PC and to my surprise it didnt work. In my perspective metasploit is much like gaim, firefox and some of the other application on this website because it wants to store it data onto the computer not the drive it is installed on. But after the wonderful developers made the program portable it stores data in files not on a specific drive. This program is for both windows and unix systems. So if any one could make this become portable i would be in gratatude for long time.

And...

People like you are the people we don't want in our forums.

Okay, maybe Tim made a mistake. Everybody does, he missed a couple words.

But actually, if you'll look, Tim's reply is a comment to your original post, not a reply to your last reply. So maybe he did not read you last comment at all, maybe he read the first post, and didn't want to read all the comments, cause they're usually long and unrelated in these forums.

Zero,

Zero,

The question was rhetorical, hence the exclamation points !!!
I read the post.

Perhaps I should have said.

OH MY GOD, DID YOU SEE WHAT THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM IS?
Shock [Shocked face, Not questioning]

It's people like you (people who use exploit programs) that make using computers "a pain in the a...", well perhaps I should just say, more dangerous.

Even if it is not your intention to do anything malicious I really don't think the creation of [and posting of] a portable version of this program would be in the best interests of the computing community.

It's programs like this that cause computers to be locked down so portable applications can't be run.

Sad

'Nuff said.

I'm not sure how to interpret "'Nuff said".

It could mean,
"I agree with you"
or
It could mean,
"Enough has been said about this and it should stop."

The tread has continued since your post.
As you are a moderator here I do not want to continue this thread unless I know your intent. Smile

I thought Simeon was a Moderator, why did I think that?

You're a moderator right?
I guess from your last post "Enough" you would prefer that I not continue this thread. I will comply (guess I should have replied when I had the chance instead of waiting for Simeon to reply to my question). I'm just too nice sometimes Blum

Unfortunately I'm not

I'm just posting a lot and hope I can help people with my knowledge, that's all. Or have you ever seen something like "[Link removed by moderator SK]"?
I didnt but it looks nice Wink

I meant both "stop it" and "I agree with you".
I thought the whole discussion went a little of topic and I figured it was one of these no-end discussions. You have 2 "teams" with 2 opinions and if no one changes his opinion, it goes on and on and on...

And I know about the difference between a "bad hacker" and a "good hacker". I didnt knew which kind ZeroOverRide was but I agree with Tim that we dont want "bad hackers" here and that they make the average PC-users life difficult.

Edit: Damn it! After trying for 2 minutes to find out which code combo it was (Alt-0252), I realised I need the (X)HTML entity. Heh.

"Or have you ever seen something like "[Link removed by moderator SK]"?

I'm sure the moderator SK (not sure who that is) had a reason for removing your link, before I saw it, and I am not asking you to post it again.
But for the sake of my sanity could you tell me/us in a way which will not be in violation of house rules, what it was about.

The link was about some very important.
And I dare to post it again: "[Link removed by moderator SK]"
And Moderator SK, that's me!
EDIT:
But it looks like he removed it again.

Okay, now I get it.

I was even more confused by Ryan posting:

Edit: Damn it! After trying for 2 minutes to find out which code combo it was (Alt-0252), I realised I need the (X)HTML entity. Heh.

I now realize (think) he was referring to making an umlaut, not to something referred to in the "deleted link".

I guess I need some more coffee Blum

While posting my last post, I wasn't sure whether or not you got it...
I think Ryan had trouble making the "ü"
I have one on my keyboard an just type it...

wtf is your problem

wtf is your problem its people like me as you said that keep websites secure and up and running because we find vulnerablilites that make the site easily hacked and then patch it.If it werent for people like me this site problably wouldnt be up and running be cause the admin of this site wouldnt know it had a vulnerablility and no one would know how to patch which then means every site eventualy would get hacked because no one would know how to patch or find the vulnerablilities. It people who hacked sites for no f*cking reason that make using a computer....no its your incompetance that makes using a computer harder find me one thing with legitemit proof that an exploiter(people like me) make using YOUR computer harder!

I'm pretty sure...

Everytime, Tim made sure he wasn't talking about you directly, because he wasn't, he was talking about the program

"Even if it is not your intention to do anything malicious I really don't think the creation of [and posting of] a portable version of this program would be in the best interests of the computing community.

Okay my words arent be choosen polietly but i've pretty testy with the fact when i say i exploit or specialize in computer security people think im a hacker and will hack them or that i will be using stuff for malisious purposes. I should be more kinda to the people replying i just don't like it when im refered to as a "hacker" because that when people think of it is a bad person, just i would really like it if some one would be able to make this into a portable app -sad- sorry for my u nwanted words....

No..

no but one person labeled exploiters as the people that make it hard to use computers...and that is basically calling me and every other exploiter a hacker, hacker is an idea not a label hate to break it to u but you people label hackers as people whom u cannot explain how they do it or u just dont understand how it is trully done..
example...
password cracked for a game account - people scream hacker hacker..no its a cracker
website has been defaced - says hacked by but was only exploited by black hat
computer is infected with virus/trojan/work - hacker...no programmer who enjoys making virus'/trojans/worms
federal bank been robber of its money VIA internet - hacker...no..well idn what was done but its not a hacker because it probly was a mix of exploitation cracking and much more no one sed hacker here except me but tim basically called me a person who used the computer for bad -sad-
