Miranda or GAIM?

I want to know what one is recommended. I will be accessing my USB drive mainly from XP computers, and a few W2K every now and then.. (rarely). I have never used Linux and only ever had one Mac, so that is kid of out of the picture. My USB flash drive is 2GB.

Variety.-

Some prefer Gaim, I use Miranda, maybe you will love Trillian, others don't even know about them and uses just plain MSN, Yahoo, etc Messenger...

It's all about tastes and Variety...

I use Miranda because is simpler, easier, and prettier...

Should I have a signature?

and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report Biggrin

I would definitely have to

I would definitely have to recommend Trillian.
You can find instruction on making the U3 version work on a "regular" usb drive HERE

Gaim

I recommend Gaim for most folks on both the portable and regular side of things. I hate Trillian.

I use pixamsn

I use pixamsn personally it's rather more for chatting and nothing more meaning no smilies or transfering. But thats something I can live with best of all it doesn't write to the registry at all and it's open-source I've been expiramenting with the source a little seeing if I can add smilies or even obtain a transfer dialog for transfering files but so far nothing yet for me.

There is a significant

There is a significant difference between pixamsn and the other IM clients mentioned in this thread:

The others are all multi-protocol clients. They can be used to link to multiple IM services concurrently.

I'm a Gaim (soon to be Pidgin) user on Linux and Windows.

I don`t like trillian

I don`t like trillian because it´s not free software. The lite version is just to convince you to buy the full version.

Miranda ist ok but a bit complicated for starters.

I use Gaim because the offical otr plugin (for encryption) is only for gaim.
