Audacity: is this still under development?

i have checked audacity's site times and times, it looks like it's standing just on a beta version which is not really portable ( while has a zip download file )..

so, are they still working on that program? or any better sound editor program you know?

and i downloaded 1.3.2 beta to my portableapps folder, but it's looking to the Pc's Document and Settings folder instead of usb. how can make this version really portable?

Huh?

version 1.2.5/ 1.2.6 isnt beta.
Only v. 1.3.2 is.
And because there are major changes in v. 1.3.5, you cant just copy it into your Portable one and expect it to work.

Beta vs Final

Audacity 1.2.6 was packaged as a portable app since it is a final release and recommended for production use. 1.3.2 is a beta release and is only recommended for testing. Like many open source apps, Audacity uses an even/odd sub-version to distinguish development vs stable branches. So all of 1.3.x is a development release. Once it is completed, bugs ironed out, features finalized, etc, it will be released as 1.4 and packaged as a portable app.

thanks but i mean also the beta version is too old( as the stable one ), their support forum is just full of non-answered questions.. then my question is, is it still under development? i can not see any news or announcement about this neither on their site nor forum..

Ask there

Ask there. I just repackage it portably. I don't have an eye into their dev process. Like any open source project, there are ebbs and flows in the dev cycle. It's all volunteers, could be lots of student codes, etc etc.
