It's really not "nuff said"

It's really not "nuff said" please include a description of the app, and what kind of license it has, as stated in the request app guidelines.

It's Open Source..

and its freeware. It apparently will allow you to view and manipulate data on your mobile phone.

Have you not tried it yet?

Ok here's a description

"BitPim is a program that allows you to view and manipulate data on many CDMA phones from LG, Samsung, Sanyo and other manufacturers. This includes the PhoneBook, Calendar, WallPapers, RingTones (functionality varies by phone) and the Filesystem for most Qualcomm CDMA chipset based phones."

I havent tried the app because i don't have the cables to connect my phone, and my pc doesnt have the bluetooth capabilities, but it seems like it could be a useful app for some

I could say something about this app if it supported my phone. I can though mention that it is a kick ass app.

And how ironic is that?...

A hella lot of people have Motorola Razr phones (incl. myself), regardless of which provider they use.

And last time I checked, BitPim didn't support certain Razr phones, such as the V3m (my model).

Which means the app is currently useless for any of us Razr V3m users.

It doth sucketh.

I'm guessing...

...that it "apparently" does not come w/ its own data transfer cable, does it?...

(Just a wild guess)

If not, it's no use to me (I can't beleive that places will charge you $70-ish for a single stupid piece of cable - unreal!...)

Well...

...they had trouble figuring out how to make a software version of a data transfer cable.

As to the hardware-type cable, I got one for my MotoRazr for $20 from TigerDirect.com.

Second that..

BitPim was the only software that actually worked with my Sprint POS Phone.
It is OpenSource software.
This would be a perfect app for a PA.

Yes, you do have to buy a data-cable.

Maybe Someone Could Try

I know this is an old topic, but I think it would be useful to a lot of people. Someone should really take a stab at portablizing it.

Pointless

Even if it were possible to make this application portable there would seem to be little point as , in addition to having to link your PortableApps device to whatever PC you are using, you would also have to have a hardware/cable connection between the computer and your Mobile phone and be able to the install the required driver for that connection to function.

NOT pointless

1) just keep a copy of the driver on your flash drive.

2) If your computer crashes, that's one less install you have to mess with. Plus it'd be a good fall-back if you lose an address or other info.

3) There are people (like myself) who actually carry their cable with them frequently [of course, in my case, it's usually because I forget to take it out, but I wind up charging my phone at school anyway, so...]

So it's not as pointless to everybody as it is to you. Just sayin'....
