Hi there,
first of all, thanks a million for this superb portable app. Especially the fact that we don't have to install two separate programs (GTK & GIMP) anymore, really helps.
I'm in the process of convincing several people of giving the GIMP a good try, and one of the largest barriers for many to cross, is in fact the GTK menu style. Lots of people don't know any better than their Windows menu, and get completely lost when having to go to "my documents" from C:\.
there's a workaround available for this, as a plug-in, it features in the official gimp plug-in list:
http://registry.gimp.org/plugin?id=3908
i'm currently using this in my GIMP Portable setup, and it works like a charm: I set up the ctrl+O shortcut to bring up the Windows FileOpen menu, and F12 opens the "save as" menu, much like in "MS Word" (works best for me, but can be set up any way you want it"
What i wanted to ask/propose: can WinFileOpen be integrated in the next edition of GIMP Portable? Please? Preferably replacing all the GTK menus in one sweep. Please?
That would really help.
thanks,
zkee
I very much doubt it, since John hardly ever modifies the package or adds plugins.

I just added this to my Portable GIMP (partly to see how it works). I don;t really mind the File Open Window that comes with this version of GIMP, but I am confused about one thing. If you look at the image of it here:
http://docs.gimp.org/en/gimp-using-fileformats-opening.html#id2556846
Can someone please tell me why the "+" (adding directories to the list) doesn't Stick when one reopens GIMP?
Now, if there was a way to customize my list, that would make life much easier.
