Christians

Hey,
I'd like to know who here is a Christian. If you are wondering, yes, I am myself. Please be honest and don't be shy.

I'd also like to know who is homeschooled, and if anyone else here is involved with ATI.

Thanks.

UPDATE:: Forgot to mention that I am homeschooled and in ATI

I am

I do not promote the fact that I am a Christian to everyone, but I am not afraid to share what Christ has done for me with anyone who will listen.

Edit:

I also went to an all boys Jesuit(Catholic) High School.

I am also on the board of my children's Christian school. I appreciate the people who are home schooled, yet I would never select that for my children.

...

I was private schooled from K through 4 and then went public after that. I detest that my parents put me through that hell and vow that I will not make the same mistake with my kids. Public school all the way for them. The Christian schools that I went to brain washed me and did not set me on a equal footing with my peers in the public system.

As for being a Christian, again I am a former Christian. I still believe in god but will never again align myself with any religion. Organized religion is a joke. Read the bible and commune with god on your own time. The "church" now a days is a bastardized version of what it once was.

Flame away but this is my belief set and nothing you state or try to prove will sway me otherwise. I have studied almost all major religions and none of them live up to the meaning of the bible.

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you do or say will be exaggerated or mis-quoted and used against you.

Sad...

I'm sad for your story. Please don't send them to public school. I've been homeschooled all my life and it is incredible. I also have never watched TV, (except for a few seconds in nursing homes and things like that...) and I love my parents for doing that for me. Besides, the public schools are so defiled (kids using bad language), not to mention unsafe...I wouldn't even let them go to public school.

Catholic

I'm a christian, and not only that but I'm also Catholic. I was in Public school from 1st to part of 3rd then to a Catholic private school from the rest of 3rd to 6th. After that public through high school. I don't believe in home school, specially for the reasons you gave ("using bad words and stuff"). I personally don't use them and I hope others would not use them or use them less. But you cannot isolate yourself from "the evil in the world". Instead go where evil lives and do your best to convert them and clean them up as much as possible. What good are we doing as Christians, Jews, Hebrews, or whatever else religion if we say "They are evil, lets not go there."? No, instead let's go there and help those who need to find God. Any religion can help those who need it, it's all the same God anyways. @BvF7734, It's sad that you don't believe in "organized religion" anymore, but hey, at least you still believe in God and living way. I'll end my comments in the words of St. Francis of Assisi: "Preach the Gospel always... and if necessary use words."

Wow, that's powerful.

I am Christian and homeschooled. I was wondering if anyone is a creationist?

Creationists

That's another thing... scientists and (some) religions/members are at war over this. Why can't both beliefs co-exist? Scientists say everything started thanks to the big bang, and they might give lots of explanations on what caused the big bang. But who set the time and place and conditions for the big bang? GOD, that's who. Scientists think we evolved from apes; religion says we simply where humans. Why couldn't God create men from a monkey?

If you are asking these

If you are asking these questions, head over to AnswersinGenesis.com (unfortunately, they are having technical problems right now, but a good article that is running right now is here). I don't want to start a debate in John's forums, but you couldn't tell me something to stop me from believing a literal Creation. God and evolution (+ Big Bang) just don't fit.

Polite Conversation

There's a reason religion is never discussed in polite conversation. It always ends badly with someone claiming they are right and someone else saying they are not. A couple people have already taken it upon themselves in this thread to claim they know how the universe was created. This is quite a departure from simply asking what religion someone is.

As this is not the point of these forums... and I don't wish to see this devolve into an argument over religion, I am preemptively locking this topic.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
