Lexar Jumpdrive Traveler

It looks as if the portable application world is increasing in popularity extremely. I was given the 1 GB Lexar JumpDrive Traveler as a gift recently. You can see it online at http://www.lexar.com/jumpdrive/jd_trav.html. Its fairly interesting... It has a program called "Traveler.exe" on it. When you run the program it lets you start "portable" version of IE, Outlook Express, and a Sync application. When you run IE from the traveler program, It starts up IE and its a fairly default version. It also creates a folder on the drive entitled "My Settings" which contains various IE settings (bookmarks and what not) that you would normally find in the Documents and Settings folder on the local machine. I think it relies on the computer having a local installation of the software and it just redirects it to settings on the drive. I'm fairly certain its propietary software, but it would be interesting technology to investigate.

Interesting indeed... But

Interesting indeed...

But who, given the choice, would use IE and OE? They're two of the worst things to happen to Windows (IMHO).

That is for sure

I was more thinking in terms of the dynamic loading of settings and redirection technology. Then again PortableFirefox already does this...I guess it was a pointless post.

Great things come to pass when something is needed not simply wanted.

Don't Worry.....

Nothing that is done is pointless. You posting this allows us to think on a new ideas and shows off a new technology.
