But you can't have an open-source license in the readme file of the program if it is not open source. Yes I understand you are trying to say the launcher is open source, but unless you open up clipmate itself, then it technically is not open source. So it is not OSI approved, or open source period. any code with the application that is closed source fails the OSI check, period.
To build on that, this site, as of now, host only open source OSI approved software, Launchers are counted, but you are distributing a commercial application as well, so this cannot be linked to. If you want to link to the download of just the launcher, you would be good to go, But you can't include the software.
Also on that note, it surely sounds like you are the developer of this app, which means you are self-promoting a non-open-source app,as stated above, not a go on this site. Please remove that link.
Sorry bud, but thems the rules.
PS Seems like a nice app though, I haven't had time to play around with it yet, but on first glance, interesting.

The readme in the launcher directory just talks about the launcher. It doesn't imply that the app itself is open-source. Did I foul this up somehow? Or is there no way for me to use a derivative of an existing NSIS script if it's going to launch a non-open program?

I'm not asking to be hosted. So this should be a non-issue.
I removed the links per your (and the first responder) request, but IMO, that just makes it harder to test, is an unnecessary roadblock, and does not help promote PortableApps to a wider audience.

Promotion of non-opensource apps or self promotions is currently prohibited. This may change in the future.

Even if just the launcher is open source, but the app itself is closed source, you can't include the OSI license with this package. If you only release the launcher, then this license can be included.

Is there any way to continue using the standard launcher, or do I have to write my own from scratch?
Or do I just need to re-word the readme for the launcher?
It seems kind of odd that one of you folks could write a launcher for my app and distribute it here, but I am prohibited from doing either of those.

You're not allowed to self-promote your commercial app in these forums. Promoting your own stuff for commercial gain is considered spamming on most all community sites, as it is here.
That said, there are options available to you to make your app available in PortableApps.com Format. Please drop a note to the contact address (see Contact Us up top) and I'll get back to you in the semi-near future when the process is ready.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
you talk about the launcher or not, it is still misleading. I, if I didn't know, would assume the whole of the program I just downloaded was open-source, not just the launcher. This is the way of users, it is a misleading thing to do. Also just including closed source code with a open-source program, makes it a non-OSI open-source product, you cannot even mention it or any part of it as open source.
As I said, if it was just the launcher and then you told people where to download the software and how to place it in the correct directory for it to work, then that would be fine.
What I meant by hosting, was not placing files on the servers, it means here in this forum you are mentioning it, hosting, or talking, about it to other people, this is not possible with a non-open source program here, sorry.
This sites purpose is to promote portableapps that are open source, or soon free with non-commercial closed-source code, no shareware or commercial apps. That audience is what we are shooting for. I am sorry that is just the way it is.

and found that it leaves a trace in the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Thornsoft.
You might want to make it remove/add that entry on shutdown and start respectively.
Backing it up would help save a users settings for next launch.

I'm directing all settings within the program to clipmate_settings.ini in the data/settings directory. But I apparently missed something. I'll have a look. Thanks.

Glad I could help, interesting program. I am going to use it for awhile and see what else it can do for my uses.

The version number in your pad file in app/appinfo is stating this is 7.1.07. That should be changed to 7.2
Just an observation.
