Portable X-Windows Client (GoGlobal)?

I make frequent use of GoGlobal to remotely access servers running Solaris on our network. Is it possible to create a wrapper to make this client portable as it is not open source, or is something like this too deep into the OS to be portable?

The client is a free download (since it's useless without the server):

Thanks!

Jeff,
welcome to PortableApps!

I haven't done a UNIX desktop on windows in a while, but if I remember correctly, you can do it with a combination of WinSCP and TightVNC. Just search around on these forums for portable versions of both of those programs, and search around on the web for how to set things up. As I remember, it can be slightly tricky to implement, but doable.

Unfortunately, PortableApps.com couldn't make a portable version of GraphOn because it doesn't have an open source license (they don't distribute the source code and they really don't let you play around with the source). However, if you use the (sometimes hazy) instructions on these forums (you can search for those too) to make your own launcher, you could make yourself a portable version of GraphOn. Just please don't distribute it. That would be illegal.

It is not your audience's responsibility to puzzle out what you intended to say; it is your responsibility to express yourself so clearly that no one with a modicum of intelligence and good will could possibly mistake your meaning.

Xming

Xming is an open x server licensed with GPL v2, and works very well as a windows X server with tunneled sessions through Putty. Think it would be a great addition to portable apps. So please check that one out instead.
