Firefox Portable Live and Helper Apps on CD

I've tried to find a way to set up FirefoxPE to use Sumatra and VLC as the default apps to use from a CD. I know that it's easy enough to do when running from a USB drive as the PortableApps launcher itself is supposed to take care of this, it even says so on the website for FirefoxPE. Anyone know of a way to do this without having the PA launcher around?

You can't

You can't do this with the launcher. It needs to update the files based on the path AS IT IS RUN on a new PC. But, Firefox Portable will be copied to and run from your local PC while Sumatra and VLC will still be on the CD.

In short, it isn't supported.

File type support?

Couldn't you somehow set the new file type support to do this?

Not a priority

It's not a priority. Especially since you can't redistribute Firefox Portable on CD with it set to open VLC and Sumatra anyway.

Not from PA.com

I was thinking that it could be set by the user before it is copied to the CD.

That's what I mean

Most end users aren't using Live mode since it's pretty useless for everyday use. Most Live use is for redistribution. Setting things like helper apps means changing settings. Which would then mean you can't redistribute it anyway.

Ah.

I was thinking about those who use a Live CD for PC's where the USB port is not accessible or disabled.

Well, thanks anyways John. I

Well, thanks anyways John. I thought I would at least ask in case I missed something. Keep up the great work regardless though, and thanks again to you and the community for the work you do.
