Please, please, please search. It is in the top right hand corner of your screen. About Pidgin, I believe John (the portable app creator for the most part) is working on that, since Gaim is now Pidgin, but I don't know much about IMing or IMing engines (if that's what they're called). But, I'm sure someone else will know more than me...

You can find it here. Just a quick fix for my personal use, remember to upgrade to the "real" one.
Do you think after working so hard on all the Gaim 2.0 Beta releases I'm suddenly not gonna do a release based on 2.0 final? I'll never understand some people.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
If you were asking me, I honestly never looked at the Gaim page. I couldn't care less about IMing.

I didn't reply to your post. I replied to the original one.

Sorry about that. I'm just a bit psyched out and excited about Pidgin.
I was impatient to wait for the release of Pidgin Portable and I was so curious on how the portable executables were made, and tried to compile a NSIS program myself.
I didn't notice someone had already made it!
Anyway in the spirit of sharing you can get my versionhere
All of the EXE and DLL were packed with UPX as well. I really admire this method. NSIS is quick and easy!
Works well with ICQ
Does'nt work with MSN
Once you add an account for MSN it crashes...
What do you mean keylogger? The only executable I compiled myself is PidginPortable.exe and the others were compressed with UPX.
That is simply dirty. If you want other people to use your work, persuade them some other way than lying. I've scanned the files with ClamWin portable, Avast U3 Edition, and AVG - they are clean (with the latest antivirus database updates). Oh well, other people have virus scanners too and it is always a good idea to scan files after downloading them.
Or perhaps his machine is already infected with keyloggers and he has no clue of how to read the antivirus scan results.
And just to make sure, I re-download the file from the server.
Output from ClamWin Portable:
Scan Started Thu May 17 21:19:17 2007

I don't really mind which one people will use, but for sure I hate people telling lies and talking bad about others when they are not sure.
And... the interesting part is that, I've downloaded the "Portable Pidgin" zip he made. It is a zipped files according to what is described in Running Windows Pidgin From a USB Drive on the official Pidgin site.
Doh! It can't even be integrated into PortableApps launcher and have your settings (and logs) backed up by PortableApps backup utility.
I now have a hint why he was so jealous of my version which is indeed based on the original Gaim Portable source code. LOL.
But if you decide to use mine until the official version comes out, do remember to scan it first!
i scanned his zip with Symantec corporate edition, the latest and greatest, all definitions up to date. I scanned it with ClamWin, i scanned it with AVG, i allowed spybot and adaware to scan over it during a full scan, i scanned it with mcafee stinger, and i scanned it with nod32 on my sister's windows box at home.
The file is clean as a whistle.
