I've noticed that most of the posts in the Request Apps forum essentially say, "Can you make application name portable?" How about a group of people look at these threads and post the relevant information (e.g.: link, license, etc.) for those people who don't bother to read the "READ ME FIRST" post?
I'd be interested in doing this (not much time for it as I have finals coming up, plus I have to deal with AMP, but when I have time I'll try), if there are no objections. While the fault does lie with these people for not searching, those posts that aren't duplicates often have applications which many other people might also find useful.
If rmccue were to be part of this team, since he's a moderator, he could modify the titles of these posts to include "[DUPLICATE]" or "[UPDATED]" for duplicate posts and threads with information posted in comments, respectively.

No offense, but you've only been here a week. Lots of the things you've suggested in other threads have been suggested before or are being worked on. Some, if you search you will find. Some aren't being discussed in public for reasons I can't mention. Why not hang back a bit and read more and get more of a feel for this site and the community before trying to change everything.
