Hi,
I've got a Kingston U3 stick with some programms already installed (Pass2Go, ACDSee, etc.) but I would like to remove all of it and install PortableApps instead.
Do I simply format the U3 stick and re-install PortableApps? If yes, how do I format an U3 stick?
Thank you,
Wilfried
Every U3 drive has a "cd partition" and a normal "removable drive" one.
Here you can download a program to uninstall both. Then simply download the PortableApps Suite you want and unzip it into the root of your USB drive.

I just uninstalled the previous programs and I'm now running PortableApps. Everything works as advertised, thank you!
Now browsing the forum to see how to make my U3 stick autostart when I plug it in.

I did this successfully before but the last time I tried it didn't work too well.

I dumped the U3 software infavour of portableapps. U3 was way to slow on start up and with disk hero activated it was trying to connect to the Internet (not a good thing in work where we have strict Internet usuage policy).
I'm much happier with portableapps, even though I can't add my own standalone apps which is a shame.
You can add your own standalone apps. Just make a new directory under /PortableApps/ and dump the files there.
