Whats The Best File Shredder?

I need a way to securely delete my files, but I don't want to trust this important duty to just any application,
I want the best.

There are two different catagories:

  1. A comprehensive app for my Personal computer
  2. and

  3. A simple app (with a small footprint) for my flash drive
(an added bonus if the app uses only the single .exe file)

I am currently using CyberShredder on my Flash drive. I like it because it runs from a single .exe file, (no DLL’s or INI’s to deal with, which makes me happy:)

UltraShredder

I like UltraShredder
It's not open source or portable, but it's tiny and fast. Maybe someone here could make it portable...

Maybe I'LL make it portable some time...

But by the cross of Christ, I am not what I was. "

Try my Eraser Portable

It is opensource and is portable, it is a pretty powerful little shredder that has shredding capabilities up to 32 passes and supports schedueling. It can also securely move files.

As all of ya should know Microsoft is the Evil Empire, and Windows (a.k.a. Winblows or Windoze) is their greatest general, so please make a difference and install Linux or Free BSD on yer Windows comp.

1. Shredding on a flash

1. Shredding on a flash drive is pointless and wears down the drive anyway.
2. CyberShredder is fine, really. All zeros, then all ones, then 5 random is sufficient. Anything beyond that is overkill.

Vintage!
