How about GIMPShop? Or Scribus?

The GIMP fork that gives it a very Photoshop-like interface is much simpler for folks who have used the Adobe original to deal with.

Since it is a fork of the GIMP, it should be fairly straightforward to make portable--the result would be a choice, much like NVu and KomPoSer. http://plasticbugs.com/?page_id=294

Next, I would think that Scribus would be an excellent addition, giving a full-on desktop publishing program that is entirely GPL. http://www.scribus.com

Thanks!

Search First

It says it right at the top of the post page for a reason.

As has been stated previously, GIMPShop is a dead project. The Windows version is highly unstable (it won't even run on any of my test machines) and not suitable for an official release here.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Funny, GIMPshop works fine on my PC

As for Scribus, it is already portable, so the real question (maybe this is what the original poster meant?) is, "can John host it here?..."

Hmm

Maybe you should make the link stand out more (like red coloured).

I wonder... would browser.blink_allowed block that or not?

I wouldnt use blink

For me, that kinda looks like commercials and "I desperately want you to click here". And that's not the style around here.

He's right.

Search, and I believe you'll find an already portable version of Scribus that someone has made.
