Hi,
Are there any engineering portable applications like MatLab and UGS I-DEAS NX??
I have them install on my PC, can i make them portable?
I know that they are very large programs but there are 8GB drives out there now, so it should be ok..

He asked if he could make them portable. As for the applications themselvs, I don't know what they are.
Sorry, I thought you're offering PACM instead of Matlab.
I think that, considering complexity of this app, using PACM for creation of such app would require too much work. Matlab uses as helper applications java, ghostscript, jade, lcc, perl, tex, webrenderer. And this was almost minimal installation. They took together 150 MB of Matlab's 1.08 GB.

looking at SciLab a while back, but I do not remember if it was portable or not.

Thanks for the replies guys.. It would be really great if we can get some of these complex applications portable..
I don't know if you have used it, but Engineering Equation Solver works on flash drives. I haven't done any testing on whether it leaves behind files/registry keys, but the application does run.
