A Note Portable [Test 4] - Note Taking Utility

Skip all this and just A Note Portable [Test 4], but if you know NSIS, I'd appreciate is you kept reading. And please let me know if your notes open on last exit re-open on the next run of different computers, thanks.

Alright, the old thread got a little long and full of things I've corrected, so since I'm at test 4, I've decided to start a new thread. There was an extra line in the script in test 3 that was screwing things up, so I removed it, and made the copying of the settings silent.

Now here's my question(s) for the next release:

1. Is there a way to copy a whole folder of settings from Application Data to the portable device without it taking up to thirty seconds?
2. All the times I tried to make the script delete the folder "A Note" under Application Data, it won't do anything. I figured there's some reason because it's program settings and files, so I just renamed it, then deleted it, but for the next release, I would like to have it just delete the folder, is there a way to force it too?

A Note Portable

And now, A Note Portable is a portable version of A Note, a desktop note taking program. Read here for a little more information. With the new version, once you run the program, your notes that were open on last closing should automatically open, it worked for me on three computers, only thing was, the portable registry settings weren't applied on my dads Vista machine, I don't know whether that's a Vista issue, or my dad's computer. Maybe someone has some idea, so please, try it out and let me know if your notes you had open on closing re-open on execution, is someone could test on multiple computers that would be good to.

A Minor Note: Until I figure out a way to have the settings transfer quicker, they will take about 30 seconds top (unless you have a lot of notes) to transfer to your portable device silently. (This will be why Windows does not let it eject.)

• If possible, make it so the folder A Note is deleted without renaming it. (Nothing for you to worry about)
• Make the settings transfer faster or do something different.
• Re-export the about box image to jpeg
• Create a nicer, proper splash screen

Test 4 - Current Release

• Removed line from script that was screwing up the settings under Application Data, your notes that were open on close should now re-open on next run.
• Made the transferring of settings silent.

Test 3

• Should now be full settings support under Application Data and registry. (Local settings backed up, portable settings applied, and reverse on close)
• Edited original program icon. (The shadow around it wasn't working for me)
• Re-exported all the orginal photoshop templates to jpeg for a crisper, cleaner guide.
• Added the 24 resource to the self extractor. (Makes is prettier)

Test 2

• Second release, the portable version can now not be running more than once, notification box added.
• Changed to correct install size in INI file.
• Added a help file linking to forum page.
• Updated self extractor with text and icon.
• Settings from Application Data saved back on device but not used.
• Fixed text in a couple readme's and sample INI.

Test 1

• Initial release, only registry settings were saved and used.
