A New version of PStart has come out. Check it out if you have not already a few new features.
"31 May 2007
PStart 2.10 finally is available with plenty of new features and optimized for Windows Vista™ (still working with 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000 and XP). Other products are in work, so expect some more updates soon."
MrChris
But your a bit late. ASuite has taken over here it would seem and most people have changed from PStart to ASuite. (I for one, have.)
But like I said it does look quite nice.
Freedom of choice... I use PStart, no matter if ASuite have more stuff or is newer... Others prefer PAM, or RKLauncher, or whatever...

I don't have a signature
Should I have a signature?
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report
I prefer PStart.
(in the future, please think twice before speaking for the rest of us. Thank you.)

I tried Asuite for a little while - it has *uncanny* similarities with PStart...
However, I am back to Pstart after I found out the hint about running multiple PStarts - it's a great option if you like to autostart different programs depending on where you're plugging you USB drive into!
Asuite over Pstart all the way.
I'd have stayed w/ Pstart, but it kept randomly generating stupid error messages whining about various files on my thumb that were 'corrupted' - despite the fact that they ran just fine (hint: They weren't corrupted in the 1st place).
So, I tried A-suite: No "erroneous" error messages at all.
End of story, case closed, 'nuff said...
===============
P.S. to MrChris:
1) The PS site states it as Pstart v2.11, not v2.10...
2) Also, the "new features" seem well-hidden behind the apparent lack of a link to any sort of "changelog" info...
3) ...not to mention the fact that the site mentions something about "faq" documents, yet again has no apparent link to said FAQs...

When MrChris posted the Pegtop PStart site stated 2.10 because that was the version being distributed then. There has been an update since then and the current version is now 2.11. It is normal with many developers to update their webpages as their apps change.
The menu on the left hand side of the Pegtop PStart site's webpage (http://www.pegtop.net/start/) under the Products PStart section shows the letters f.a.q. which are a link that when you put your mouse pointer over it and click on it brings up this page: http://www.pegtop.net/start/faq.htm. It contains a list of common questions and the appropiate answers to them.
And right under the letters f.a.q. there is the word history. It too is a link and if you move your mouse's pointer over it and click on it it will bring up this page: http://www.pegtop.net/start/history.htm which tells you what is new in each version of PStart.
Hopefully this addresses your concerns.

...heh; silly me - for some reason I went to the "support" page looking for this info, where faq's are mentioned but not linked to, and there's no mention of changelogs and the like...
RE: "It is normal with many developers to update their webpages as their apps change."
Indeed it is; however, in this case there was a mere 2 days that elapsed betwixt the post and my notice & mention of this version discrepancy.
Usually versions ain't upgraded *quite* that fast (in fact, how long've we waited between v 2.09 and 2.10?...), so tis easy to see how one coulda thoguht this a typo or whatever on the part of the original poster...
Moreover, the "history" page doesn't mention release *dates* at all...

So you assumed it was wrong. Haven't you heard what happens when you assume something?

PStart for me,
Simple, small, quick
Never had a problem with it or the U3 version

[edit: sorry, this was a reply to tut but I can't delete it to repost it]
Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?
The only thing missing that I already suggested is the ability to change the sys tray icon.
Guess the developer didn't think it was a worthwhile idea.

It is in the new version, you can change the icon (well, at least the icon color).
What I would like is the ability to remove that ridiculous search tab...

I meant the actual icon, not just the color.
With ASuite, I have icons that match which ever drive it is installed on so I know just by glancing what drive the menu is running from.

(Photoshop + .ico plugin) + Resource Hacker = Custom Icons

I have used Res Hacker before on icons but it does not seem to work on Pstart, has anyone else been successful with this???
After I change the icon and try to run Pstart I get "not a valid win32 application"
Thanks,
Scott
Ooh, maybe so.
I have found that problem sometimes, but that's why I also have XN Resource Editor as well. Usually one or the other will work, unless the app has been compressed with UPX

Thanks for the reply but that did not work either. Let me know if anyone gets this working. I would love to have a custom icon in the systray for pstart
ASuite has the option for a custom systray icon.
Have you tried it?
