havent tried it. i think ill stick with logmein, just because i am fermilier with it and i like the fact that you can sink the drives tot h remote computer and use the remote computer to print files off of the controlled one.

what does Hamachi have? is it free?

Well....

Well Hamachi is for creating a Virtual Private Network say if you have a game thats World Of War Craft then you can use hamachi to start your own private server so anybody thats connected to your computer using hamachi can play with you. Or another example you can use Hamachi to log into your computer via laptop even though your hundreds of miles away Biggrin

i got the whole VPN server thing but why would you need hamachi to do the same thing as a webbrowser? because you can use a web browser to use any of the logmein programs, it is kinda the point of remote web acsess to a computer to controll it. \(**)/

Hamachi

Hamachi is not a web application it's a desktop application that installs on your computer and it can works better because you have complete control over your users connected to your vpn

Well

Well it only creates a vpn and gives you an ip address then you use any vnc client (and make sure you have Hamachi on the other computer your connecting to and is connected to your created vpn) to log in and control that computer or like I said use Hamachi to create your own private Game Server Wink and the site is Hamachi.cc

Your Missing

Your kind of missing the point here Serg. Hamachi is a Virtual Private Network so that only you and other people (That you give the network address too) to use the private network making a secure connection so that Gameplay Or VNC is undisturbed by anything else

Clear this up...

VPN connection is a site to site or PC to PC connection that is a encrypted tunnle that no one can read the traffic that is sent.

VNC is a program with several spinoffs that allow you to remote to another machine and control it as if you are sitting there. Depending on the distro of VNC this could be encrypted or it could not be.

LogMeIn is a website that offers a similar type of service as VNC but is more of a VPN connection instead. LogMeIn uses port 80 so it can't generally be blocked and allows a VPN connection from your browser to there server to your machine so no one can see from the traffic what you are doing other than visiting a website.

Hamachi is a multi connection VPN server that allows multiple people to securly connect via encrypted tunnle to the central machine and then be able to do whatever from that machine.

VNC semi portable

LogMeIn not portable but great for any home machine to be accessed

VPN can't be portable at this time due to encryption drivers for the network

Hamachi good for hosting your own server of whatever to do X with

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you do or say will be exaggerated or mis-quoted and used against you.
