portable scrabble

i have written a fully functional 2-person scrabble game, that, if worked on (there are a few know bugs here and there) could definitely be a sweet addition to portable apps.

its written in VB (yes i know...) for my computer programming class. id be willing to release the code to anyone who wants to help me improve it.

heres a screenshot: (yes i know you can see the other person's hand, but what can i say...)

Looks good...

I'd like to mess with it...I mean "help you improve it". Can you post the code? Also, does the code work with MS Visual Studio 2005: Visual Basic .Net Express Edition? You can find it here

I'm learning VB and would like to help with this program's development.

Basic Scrabble (TM) is easy to implement

But this implementation looks quite mature. You'd have to portabilize Python first though, or rewrite it (in C/C++) somehow.

While we're at it, anyone for a chess, xiangqi, weiqi, shogi, go, checkers, phutball, arimaa, othello, crossword, bridge, backgammon or poker player?

*cough* http://www.tanisthalon.karoo.net/pythonportable.html *cough*
I'll get it up on my site soon; forgot to upload it the other day Wink

As for chess, try WinBoard Portable by me. I'm also working on some other games, but I can't remember them all at the moment.

Python Portable Bug

Hi,
I downloaded PythonPortable but the parameter winkExecutable in PythonPortable.ini does not work. I need to launch pythonw.exe to hide the command prompt but the PythonPortable.exe launche always python.exe. The PythonPortable.ini is in the correct directory beacause I tried the disable logo option that worked well.
Excuse me if I posted here but The PythonPortable support page link on the site is broken.
Thanks

Bye

Not mine

It's not my app, I just mirror it with permission from tanisthalon. Please create a new topic with this issue, as it irrelevant to this conversation.

the code would be way to

the code would be way to long to post (42 pages currently) so id could just zip the project up and send it by email.

so u know: there are still bugs that need to be fixed.

btw: that py scrabble does look pretty nice.

Erm

Email is a one-to-one correspondence protocol. Why don't you upload it to your own website or a public file sharing service.

Then...

You could post the link for all of us!
A fair data server would be www.bravenet.com , it only has 50mb of storage, though.

BTW: here is my email: Kaptan226(at)aol(dot)com

FYI

Just so you know, you're responding to a post made in 2007. It's likely this one is dead. Figured I should let you know. Peace..
