Thanks so much for the update. I think I can just download the latest version and extract it over my current portable GIMP directory, but I prefer to get the real deal portable download from here whenever possible. I've been playing around with this a lot, and the application is really growing on me now that I understand the interface. And for those interested in using GIMP but having trouble learning, I'm quite enamored of Akkana Peck's "Beginning GIMP: From Novice to Professional" book (hope it's acceptable to point out the book I used to start understanding the program).

I got the gimp 2.2.15 package already from the InGimp website, and since I'm not really using this app portably, I'm not planning on using this PA'pped version. InGimp lets some folks somewhere at some university (yes, sometimes my faith in fellow humans is peerless
know what Gimp is used for mainly, and how the Gimp could be improved. for more details, check [link removed by moderator JTH. InGIMP is not really related and some may not know that it reports back data.]
it will be nice though, to forward this PAF to beginning people (of whom I know quite some :))
