~Sigh~ I know that this is a really dumb question, but the thing is, I have never needed the the search box til now to reply to another post. I had found it earlier, but I can't remember where. Where is it exactly...? *rolls her eyes at a non-existent memory....*
It's one of the features on the site that is resource-intensive. So, when the site is overloaded (more than 2000 anonymous or 1000 registered users on at the same time) it is automatically disabled. It'll reappear when the site slows down.
I'm working on moving to a dedicated box that will alleviate this.
