Audacity: Recording off of Real Player or other WAVE stream, Vista?

When I had XP, I used the Audio Record Wizard that allowed me to record off of "WAVE" audio so whatever was playing through the sound card (and through my receiver to the speakers) would be recorded. This was used for streaming audio for radio shows. I still use that same sound card with Vista I did with XP, a Creative Digital USB Audio Card and this computer also came with a RealTek HD Audio card as well. I'm given options to record from both sound cards, but only from the digital/analog/mic input sources of the sound cards, I get no options to record off of the "computer" itself like Real Player.

Can this player record the "WAVE" audio sounds; if so, how do I set it up?

thanks in advance

I think

Audacity can do this.

It does Work with Inputs

I have successfully recorded off of the HD Cable Box, Dolby Pro Logic of course since DD 5.1 will not record with Audacity. But again, all the audio preferences ask me for to record off of is any of the inputs on the sound cards or the Microsoft Sound Mapper-Input.

I can record from one sound card to the other and accomplish my goal, but I really don't want to have to unhook/hook up cables or buy more digital switching devices if I can just record whatever audio the sound card picks up from the computer like I did before with the Audio Record Wizard.
