I am interested in applications that can configured to run from a CD. My present employer and my previous employer both deny the ability to install application on work pc's and disallow connection of portable devices, but will allow CD's. I have found a number of applications that will work from CD, but would like to find more. I would really love to have the Portable Apps menu running from CD (havn't tried it yet).
Currently I am using Lynx (text mode web browser), emacs (unix text editor that works great on windows too), ws-ftp (ftp client), and (beleive it or not) Perl (scripting language).
Has any work been done on this by this group or anywhere else anyone knows of?

I think every App here is capable of being run of cd.
It differs a bit, but should work. There is a section on every App's support page about this.
