No More ASCII Art, Please

Ok, kids. It was a fun ride, but the whole dueling ASCII art thing has to end now. There are comment threads that are supposed to be about something in particular but wind up being about 75% silly pictures of cats and bunnies. The forums are supposed to be USEFUL and this severely hinders that usefulness.

So, no more ASCII art. And I'm going to have to start enforcing the ban on ASCII art in signatures (if you check the forum guidelines, it's always been against the rules). Signatures are supposed to be a few lines (a few means 3 for those who don't know) of a link to your forum/blog and maybe a short quote. They're not supposed to be attention grabbing so they interrupt the flow of reading responses to questions and suggestions.

I didn't want to have to come down on this. But it's been getting ridiculous and people have been abusing it more and more.

I'm gonna leave this stickied for a couple days before I start removing ASCII art from posts/sigs.

A personal request

John,

I really have gotten attached to Mr Bunny and am actually using him as my default signature in my mail and other groups.

Rather than try, and then seem disrespectful, I thought I should ask.

If I were to use a one line, "disassembled" Mr Bunny, as below, without comments, as my personal "moniker" would that be acceptable? I would of course wait a respectful amount of time before using it, to let the flack die down, and would use it without comment.

Respectfully submitted,

Timothy Clark

Sorry John

I am sorry I started this whole thing John. Sad
But I spent like an hour perfecting it and I thought it would be cool to show everyone my creation.
I will get rid of My Bunny.
I bid the a fond farewell Mr. Bunny!! http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/6931/cryingsmileyqo2.jpg
I hope I can still be awsome
Again, sorry
Benjamin
