Hi
I put FF portable on a USB stick for my Dad so he can use it on his travels around Europe.
Now he's texting me from Italy that FF has "denied him access as he declined to make a donation".
Is this the case?

That doesn't make any sense. At no time does it even prompt you for a donation within Firefox Portable.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Don't know where You download this ugly thing.
Look at the source code of the Portable Apps FF launcher, there is no technology to do things like this! This is one of the biggest advantages of GPLed OSI certified
software, that You are able to look 'behind the scenes'.
I think this (strange message) could only be if You use a Launcher from another source than PortableApps.com or if Your father gets some kind of spyware or virus.

Marko

What You need is OSS!
Thank you for the advice.
My dad is getting on and he's not techno savvy. Fixing computer problems via text is a difficult business
I wonder if they are at an internet cafe or some place where they have to pay or 'donate' to use the internet? Lots of places in Europe are even more parsimious than the US with internet access.
