This has been resolved.
When using Mozilla Firefox PE the address bar is blank but I can type in it and go to websites. When going to a different page after I typed a address the one I typed in is still there.

This happens in Firefox sometimes. It has since 1.0. Sometimes it's temporary and a restart will fix it. Other times it is indicative of a partially corrupt profile or a theme that has issues. In that case, try switching to the default theme. Try disabling some extensions. If all fails, you'll need to manually rebuild your profile.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Ok, it seems that Gmail Notifier was the problem. It was giving me an error on start up of Firefox so that is the first one I thought to check. I am going to attempt to fix the problem with it.
