I use Sandboxie to test out new freeware that I've downloaded, just to be sure it isn't including any malicious software. (paranoid)
anyways, I was excited to find that they have finally made it portable:

One of the posters there came up with an odd Idea, which I thought I would present to you guys.
anyways, here goes:
Can I use Sandboxie to make any app portable by using Sandboxie
to install said app into a sandbox rooted on the USB, then use that
sandbox with every other computer I use?

but you'll need to install the program USING sandboxie, cause sb will redirect all the installation files. for me it work perfectly...

Please Make TiLP Portable
I downloded the portable sandboxie and extracted all to h:\Portable Sandboxie,
if I ran XSandboxie.exe, and chose menu Function->Run Sandboxed->Internet Exploere, I got
The sandboxie drvier (SbieDrv) is not available to sandbox programs.
Make sure both the driver and Sandboxie service(SbieSvc) have started successfully.

Don't know where to find it, but MeoWoW used to use sandboxie.
I'll try to make Age of Empires portable with it.
Sadly, I don't think I can make the CD disk of it portable...

I mean I'm curious why you took the time to write an NSIS version even though an AutoIT version was already available. I know niether NSIS nor AutoIT, so I wonder what one provides that the other one doesn't. BTW, I'm testing both versions of Portable Sandboxie on my system now.
I wanted to learn NSIS to port other apps I have. I had forgotten about Sandboxie for a while and after I started playing with NSIS I did some research back into it. Pablo had written the AutoIT script for it, but it hadn't been updated to the newest Sandboxie version. After working through his script and the new version of Sandboxie, I found it was kinda out of date. I think my solution to creating, starting, ending, and deleting the service and driver works somewhat better as well.
I'm not saying anything bad about AutoIT or the work Pablo has done, heck I've never used it and only know *enough* to decipher some scripts. Just so happened I wanted to learn NSIS and this was a good challenge.
Anyway, the launcher I uploaded today should work very well for you and the backup/restore functions should be very clean. I've got a few new things/ideas for the next version, but I'll wait on a new release of Sandboxie for that since they are minor.
