SuperTux Portable 0.1.3 Pre-release (Testers needed)

New version available, topic locked.

I've had this one for a really long time, but it never made it past the "Think about and research" stage. This should be my last for the weekend and probably until my September holidays, so enjoy!

SuperTux Portable is the fun SuperTux game packaged in a portable format. SuperTux features 9 enemies, software and OpenGL rendering modes, configurable joystick and keyboard input and 26 playable levels. Plus, it leaves no personal information behind on the machine you run it on, so you can take your game wherever you go.

SuperTux Portable 0.1.3 Pre-release

Have fun with it and be sure to point out any bugs. I spent about 20 mins trying to work out why I got a Visual C++ Runtime Error, then realised that SuperTux crashes on the first time it runs, because it doesn't have a profile. I worked around that with the DefaultData directory. Also, the source should be up in around 10 mins, FileZilla is slow as usual Biggrin

I would recommend using

I would recommend using pngout on all the png files in the supertux directory.

eg. for /r %i in (*.png) do pngout "%i" /y

Hmm

I'll take a look at doing that tomorrow. Does it reduce the size significantly?

Sorry

I don't remember the original size, but it does decrease the size a little bit.

Works good

Left nothing behind, but it took long to start and I killed the process after one minute after I pressed "Quit".

Hmm

Weird, it doesn't take long on mine to start or shut-down, and my computer is 11 years old Biggrin

Lovin' it

Sometimes I dl programs just to see what they do, then if it does not feet my need, just delete them. Well, I dl SuperTux but never really played it, until this last weekend, and let me tell you that I absolutely love it. It's actually a very cool game. Thanks for making it portable.
