PeaZip Portable 1.8 Test 2

This is just PeaZip Portable packaged with a PortableAppsInstaller.
PeaZip Portable is an nice, opensource archiving tool based on 7-Zip, also it is transparent and supports lots of formats. And did I mention it is small?

Link: https://downloads.sourceforge.net/armogohmasuites/PeaZipPortable-1.8-r1....

Source: https://downloads.sourceforge.net/armogohmasuites/PeaZipPortable-Source.7z

Changes:

Removed the IE crap, also I UPXed the guts of PeaZip.

Actually as stated in the release notes on SF.net

It credits you for the launcher, all I did was update it...
Question, what language is the launcher written it?

The Launcher...

is written in nsis but if your not talking about programming language then the language I used was english.
You know I was going to start making peazipportable again but I never got around to doing it Wink Good job in reviving it

Copyrights Stripped Again

According to the GPL, you can not strip someone else's copyright notice from code just because you modify it. I know I've brought this up to you when you've done it before. This is obviously a modification of one of my launchers. Thus, you have to keep my copyright intact. Instead, you stripped it and the top only says:

;Copyright (C) 2006-2007 Zach Thibeau

Please remedy this ASAP and please don't do it again.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Uh, John are you talking to me or Zach?

And about the infringement thing should I modify the launcher and change the copy string back?

Espreon I made a new launcher for PeaZip and I'll send it as soon as possible because I just got up and got a few things to do before I do anything more work here (Morning Chores and Eating Breakfast :P)
PS I also updated PeaZip to 1.8.1 and I also made my own Paf.exe script using HM NIS Edit with using 1 portion of Your Code John but in the license portion I mentioned where I got it and Gave full credit to you
Installer is also compressed with upx (I found a variable to comress the installer via a Script Command for nsis) and Installer size is 2.61 megs
Edit: Download link is Here

Remove all instances of

Remove all instances of Thumbs.db before distribution.

Use UPX to uncompress executables and then recompress using LZMA compression which is better then what is used.

Why is their already data in the \Data directory immediately after extraction (peazip never launched...which means you're distributing extra junk)? Also, why is there folders\files in a directory named "Data" that's a subdirectoy of \Data? Sounds like a typo somewhere. Why are IE Favorites, Cookies, etc. all in the Data directoy in the first place and what do they have to do with a compression/decompression program?

Besides the Thumbs.db issue, there's a bunch of what I'm deeming "extra junk" as I described above. Extract the download above, turn on hidden and system files, and take a look for yourself:

Which Version does that belong to, My New Release or the re-release by Espreon
Because I checked all of Mine and I do have my settings set to show hidden Files (Because thats how I make my Apps Portable I focus on all the important parts it saves it settings too and more) and I found nothing in my Data Folder.
Edit:
I just looked at the one Espreon Re-Uploaded and that one does have the Junk in it use the one I Just updated http://linkprophecy.com/apps/PeaZipPortable.paf.exe

Well, your version needs

Well, your version needs work considering it doesn't let the user chose the install directory. It just dumps the files to a subdir of the location of the installer.

Also, settings aren't being stored in \Data\Settings anymore so I assume it's using the machine's registry and therefore isn't portable anymore.

Why are there two versions of this portable software floating around anyways? Are you two working on separate versions for some reason?

No

No there is no 2 versions Both made by me (Just the first one was re-released by Espreon Using my old Launcher) and No Peazip Doesn't use the registry it's some code in the nsis script I forgot to remove since peazip doesn't make any real settings to the registry or the appdata folder

PeaZip 1.9.1

Hi, saturday 8 I released new PeaZip and PeaZip_portable release, 1.9.1.
There are some improvements and fixes in the user interface, wich now has more compelte menus and context menus, and is skinnable in all graphic elements including buttons and menu glyphs.
I implemented also many under the hood updates, like full support for latest PAQ8O and for LPAQ1, and 7z/p7zip frontend update to version 4.55/4.53; now a total of 58 filetypes are supported.

Somewhere in future, probably in the present 1.9.* series, I'm also planning to introduce some more file utilities to integrate in application's menus, like chechsun/hash calculation, byte-to-byte file compare and file whipe.
