i think only megaupload grabber leaves a .txt file behind. :S
also,yes.they can extract and run without u3!
all u3 drives with u3 installed require a password to open full pathways to the actual flash media in the drive. with uot activating u3 and entering the password, the flash looks like a corrupted or inacsessable flash drive to windows.
i have also tried to hack my u3 without activating u3 but the flash drive is 100% inacsessable.
i dont know if you got around it thogh, or how.

you have to go through u3s password protection to get to the actual flash drive. untuill you do so, windows wont let you in.

obviously dont get it... u3 is like fort knox and your flash drive is inside. in order to get into it by any method, you must open the door (u3 pass) to get to the gold inside (flash drive partition. otherwise you have no acsess because the door(u3 pass) would be closed and i would laugh because you walked into a door.

I don't want to be rude but it is you who are not getting it.
Let me try to explain.
The poster has some apps.
These apps work with windows and do not need U3.
He has "Packaged" these apps so they will install to, and run from the U3 Launchpad.
The "original" app is still in the .u3p install package and can be extracted (by renaming the .u3p to .zip) and used without U3.
At no point has any mention been made concerning U3 and password protection, or hacking into the U3 drive.
This is why the original poster said:
"i can't understand what do you mean man" in his reply.
I too cannot understand how you got onto this U3 password thread. It has absolutely nothing to do with what is being discussed.

if it is in the flash, then the gateway is u3 nomatter what the os or anything for that matter. if it is stored on the drive then on any os or computer you must get acsess through u3 otherwise it just doesent work. i have tried to acsess my drive without using u3 but it says "Please insert disk into Whatever:\. this is the bottom line and there is no room to argue as well as no reason to argue because YOU CANT ACSESS A FOLDER ON FLASH WITHOUT GOING THROUGH U3!end of story. pereod. done. finito. complete. end. stop. no more.

As long as the password is Not enabled Any OS can get into the drive and Any folder on the drive.
I do it every day, several times a day

Just disable the security.
I downloaded three files and it wont let me download any more. is there any way you can host them differently?
sorry my friend but it's not possible to create a folder in other host websites i use :/ you have to wait 1 hour to download again from RS :S
if you had bothered to mention that the security was disabled than this discussion would not have elevated to this level. and you are right that WITH THE SECURITY DISABLED(as you failed to mention) then yes, you can acsess the drive without going through u3.
