I get my RSS feed that tells me new versions of my chosen apps are available, but I then have to manually grab the file and install it. Sometimes I read the feed, but forget to update an application.
I am wondering if anybody has thought about creating something similar to any of the existing package management systems out there.
If there is such a project, can I get some info on it please? If there isn't such a project, I believe it would need the blessing and support of John. John, if you are reading this, would you support such a project (if one doesn't already exist) if I got it organized?

p.s. I'd also like to see any such system support a simple web app to allow a user to check off the apps they want and have a custom installer created to bootstrap the portable applications.

Umm, you just replied to a post that was over a year old. The project could well have been abandoned by now, who knows?
No, I edited my post to remove some old info I don't want floating around anymore and that updated the posting date/time. Yes, I know the Google Wayback machine or Coral Cache might have that info cached already.

Yeah, you basically have to assume that once you post something online, it's available to the world forever. Even if you delete it later, there's caches and caches of caches keeping it around.
