Sunbird: Importing Outlook Calendar doesn't work

I do not know, if that is a feature of sunbird ..... I have exported my calendar from outlook (*.csv) and have tried to import it to sunbird ...

... an error - message occured regarding the character-coding (UTF-8).

Is that known ?
Is there a solution ?

importing outlook calander

you can do it the otherway Wink
first save the outlookcalendar as a iCalendar( .ics ) file.
open sunbird and go to file/import and search the .ics file

It can't

but it can do CSV files, which sunbird can import just fine.

I've actually done it,

so I know it works. If you're importing a large file with a lot of events it may take a long time (as in, measured in minutes), during which you probably just shouldn't touch the computer. But if that's not working, I really don't know what would cause your problem.

import of outlook CSV file into sunbird fails

I face the same problem (exept any error message)
any CSV file i create with outlook 2003 SP3 and try to import into sunbird fails. I tried to cut down the size of the CSV file and waited long times, but with no result. Sunbird seems to do nothing. Has anyone an idea?
thanks harkra

workaround

I had the same problem when i tried to import my .csv file from outlook but found this workaround.
(requires a gmail account)

1. export from outlook to .csv
2. import to your google calender
3. export from googlecal to .ics file
4. import .ics to sunbird
5. Yay it works! Smile
