No.
You can hide exe in jpg, but it won't run when user views it.
Find a better hideout for your virus ;P

There are some programs that can put any data (not too much) in a picture by slight modification of it's look. But I don't remember any name.

hahaha.it's not really a virus.it's a fake message!!!
Anything that you hide and make a user open against their will (this includes unknowingly) is a virus. By the way what does the message say?

warning!the pc will shut down in 1 minute!your hard drive have been seriously damaged!
that sounds like a virus to me. even if it doesnt really damage anything, it's running without the other person knowing it. that really isnt funny at all.

Personally if somebody did that to me I wouldn't find it funny it would most likely piss me off. Who would you do it to anyway? Hopefully not one of us.

When I was trying to learn NSIS I did something similar (except I left out the jpeg part), sent it to my co-workers, and then sat back and enjoyed the show.

I could do the same with AutoHotKey. I scared my boss when i logged into my comp and LotusNotes started and automatically logged me in, firefox opened when i hit Win + F, and Win + P logged me into the app they have me testing here.

:o very clever -.-
no matter how you say it, it is a virus. proper definition would make that a trojan horse. either way it isnt funny and you could get in sereous trouble if someone knew it was you planting viruses in pictures.

by definition virus would spread and harm the computer. i dont think a fun little prank message would fit that. and i also dont think it will execute by opening a jpeg file.
a trojan horse would give a backdoor to the pc. allowing the creator to control, flip the screen and other good stuff i want to pull on my bro.

Or maybe Patrick could do this if you made him a moderator [hint, hint]. Can you lock this thread I have hoped a few times that it would go away and die, but other people have had different plans. It has been revived 3 times. Please kill it!

Yea eh, cause who's here first.
...
Ahh, if only.
I think there may be a possibility of me becoming a mod, don't know for sure though.
Yea, I agree, because he was just asking a question, but now people are fighting and accusing him of creating viruses, it probally should be locked.

I'm new here in the forums, but i have witnessed first hand the fruits of a "fake message." One of my friends got expelled for it. It is ILLEGAL if you do it without warning the user. Even if its not malicious, it is wrong. If its a joke, post it on albinoblacksheep, they have stuff like that, otherwise, maybe people just stop asking for help for something that is illegal. I agree with previous post, this thread should be blocked and/or removed.
Welcome to portable apps.
