I am not having any luck on installing Hotmail extension on Thunderbird Portable. has any one installed the Hotmail extension ? if so can you share your success?

I have reading mail from my Hotmail account in Thunderbird Portable without problems.
The first thing to do is install the right extension. Webmail comes with different extensions, install the one which says "Webmail - Hotmail".
Second, it's to find the right settings from the addon. If you click in the Options button for the Addon (in the Addons windows) you'll find a radio button with the options "Hotmail (old Website)", "WebDav" and "Hotmail Live (New Website)", unfortunately I found the right setting with a trial-and-error approach, testing all of them.
Third, check if your hotmail account is available. If you don't use the account (read the mail from the page, or sending messages) for a certain time, it locks.
Fourth, check if www.hotmail.com is working.
I know it sounds silly, but sometimes it fails, so if the site is down, it cannot connect to it.
