Beta 3 is almost ready. Full GUI support for adding additional windows now works.
I had a thought though. It gets annoying having a message comes up when the user clicks an exe or com file on first run. This message is displayed because so far, CAFE handles all unmanaged extensions the same way.
My question is, should I rewrite that section so CAFE will ignore exe and com files, and just let the host computer handle them normally, or should I leave support for them in CAFE?
Another Question. Since window support now works, but the current hotkeys set Ctrl+Click for managing windows, and Win+Click to manage files, would it make more sense to switch the hotkeys, Using Win for windows and Ctrl for files?
just my $.02 ......
I say have CAFE ignore the exe & com's.
do like the suggestion of Win key for windows also.
thx
I agree with brewabel, CAFE should ignore exe & com's. I can't
think of any situations where you would want to or could open
those files with another application.
I also think you should associate the Win click with window assignments.

When I want to open an exe with Universal Extractor. Of course, I would use the alt key.

Thanks for the comments. I will do a small rewrite so that if the file is an exe or com file, the main association will be the default on the host system. I will still leave in the ability to create an alternate association for these files.

Another change I'll be making for beta 3 was suggested here:

Anybody have suggestions for another hotkey to assign that function to? If possible, I'd like to not have it reassign any of the default windows hotkeys.
